Bring your hiking shoes to Bardufoss
Bardufoss and surrounding areas offers great number of hiking opportunities in summer and fall, with varying degrees of difficulty.
HIKING UP ISTIND
Hiking our mountain, Istind, is the highlight of the hiking season for many. The hike is somewhat demanding, with a rather steep incline for some parts of the route. The mountain top is 1489 meter above sea level. The view from the top is definitely worth it, if you do not mind the workout. Read more here.

HIKING ALAPPEN
The Alappen mountain top is 1 491 meters above sea level, and has an amazing view of Kirkesdalen. The hiking trail is marked by red marks. This hike is also quite steep, but also with a fabulous view.
HIKING UP VASSBRUNA
Vassbruntinden (1203 meter above sea level) is the highest mountain in Lenvik municipality. The mountain top is on the west side of the Malangen fjord. You will be able to follow red marks to the top also on this hike.

SEGLA
The island Senja offers some great opportunities for some memorable hikes. We recommend hiking Segla and/or Hesten. Please note that both hikes have a rather steep incline.

SHORT HIKES AND WALKS

If you prefer hikes or walks without any steep inclines, we recommend a walk in Dividalen National Park to the cabin, Dividalshytta. Find more information here.
One can also go for walks from the hotel, e.g. around Steinberget. This is a nice 6km walk.
