Bardufoss Hotel

Bardufoss Hotel has 58 hotel rooms (single/double room standard and superior), as well as a family room and a large suite.

We have three meeting rooms of various sizes, all with a view towards the mountains Istindene.

On the first floor, we have an O Learys Bardufoss bar and restaurant. Here we also serve our breakfast.

During the period of 2020-2023 we have renovated large areas of the hotel, including new doors, new elevator, new suite, most of our bathrooms and our entire first floor where you can now find O Learys Sportsbar and Restaurant – which opened in August 2022.

In 2023 we installed a self-check in for our guests. There is no serving in the bar in the reception, but our guests can enjoy our O Learys restaurant on the first floor or bring their drinks from O Learys to the reception area if they like.

There are some great gym facilities for our guests at the gym Feel across the street. Opening hours are from 06-23 every day.

Parking is available for you both in front, in the back, and next to the hotel. If you have an electric car, a charging station is available behind the hotel – Øvreveien 18. Here you can find a charger from CircleK.

We are passionate about contributing to and being part of a lovely local community. We are for this reason very happy that our guests have the opportunity to meet the locals both at our restaurant and bar, at the various activities in our area, and at other hotspots like the popular coffee shop across the street – Kaffemøya.

The history of the hotel

After the second World War, colonel Oberst Ole Reistad requested that the Krogstad family established a hotel in Bardufoss. Both Bardufoss Airport and the military station in Bardufoss were expanding and there was a need for an hotel in the  region.  The hotel burned down in 1963 and had to be rebuilt.

Bardufoss Hotell has been a family owned hotel from the start, and in 2003 the hotel was bought by Kristin and Thorbjørn Nymo. Kristin is an descendant of some of the first families that established themselves in the Bardufoss area at the end of the 17th century. The settlers were encouraged by Fogd Jens Holmboe and the promise of free lush land.

Thorbjørn is from Bergen, and has run various businesses from a young age. He has also been involved in community development projects, both as a developer and as a politician (both in Oslo and in Målselv county). The couple met in Oslo, and decided to move north to Bardufoss to run the hotel and do property development.

Thorbjørn Nymo, is the current hotel manager.
